Day 1 is down, and so are the campers!

Well… “officially” the campers are down… but boys giggle and talk beside me as I rat-a-tat-tat in the dark into the night. 🙂

We arrived, played some games, got our camp shirts, moved in to our rooms, ate lunch, played more games, then finally did the official camp kickoff and Opening Celebration! There we played some group games, then had a short messages from Camp Pastor Pat where he set the stage and theme for the week of us being created, by God, for a purpose!

Ephesians 2:10 is our driving passage for the week and the kids are challenged to memorize it, and one of our campers already did! At our very first all-church gathering Donovan Gay was the first to be able to say it word-for-word. Way to go Donovan! I encourage you to memorize it too, and be prepared to talk to your child about it when they return to reinforce what they will be taught all week.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10, Christian Standard Bible

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night!
